Eighteenth century Russian silver and niello box

Description

Round partially gilt Russian silver snuffbox. Nielloed medalios on both sides. The nielloed medallion on the top of the box seem to be a semi cartographic in nature, and depicts a siberian town, possibly Veliky Ustiug. Very heavy gauge, this semm to confirm the small old ticket inside the box from the 1960-70.

I do not have this publication so I cannot checque or verify , but obviously this box or a similar one is illustrated.
