1740 English gold box

Description

English antique gold box ca 1740 with a German gold coin from Manheim ” CAR:PHILIP.D.G.ELECT PALATINUS 1733 ” / Charles Philip by the grace of God Elector Palatine. Reverse, arms of the Prince, with four crowns, supported by four C’s interlinked and four P’s, the whole forming a cross, legend.
The lid is with an engraved and enamelled inscription “Sacred to the memory of R C ”
