1680 silver gilt scissors case

Description

Engraved and gilt silver scissors case, English ca 1680. The case has a separate compartment to house a sharpening stone as well. This joint solution is rare. The back is with four loops to facilitate a chain. Scissors were a very expensive assesory in the seventeenth century so they were kept in wonderful cases.
