Pomander

Description

Late seventeenth century silver pomander. Probably German ca 1680. It opens into a six compertmen recepticle, with each compartment as a sealed unit. The foot unscrews and is with a spoon to use as a tool to access the spices.
The sliding tops of the sections are engraved with : Rosmarin Rosen Muscat Schlag Kanel Negelken
