Eighteenth century silver mounted cowrie shell snuffbox

Description

Large cowrie shell snuffbox twith silver mounts. The silver lid is marked on the inside with a makers mark “SM” in capitel letters. The lid is with an engraved monogram of “IVR”. English or Scottish ca 1780.
