Russian silver beaker, marked with the Town mark of St, Petersburg ca 1820. .Also marked with Makers Mark and the mark of 84 / denoting the finess of the silver /
The plain beaker is decorated with 3 applied cast plaques. The beaker is engraved with a later inscription
” To H E D Creed From fellow members of the British Embassy Moscow 20/9/30 ” /One wonders where did members of the Embassy managed to buy an antique silver beaker during the darkest period of Stalin’s era./
